Understanding
incontinence.

Urinary incontinence is the involuntary leakage of urine. It ranges from occasional minor leaks to significant, life-limiting bladder control problems. It is caused by weakness in the pelvic floor muscles — the hammock of muscle and connective tissue that supports the bladder, uterus and bowel.

The pelvic floor weakens through pregnancy and childbirth, the menopause transition (declining oestrogen reduces tissue strength), general ageing, chronic straining, and high-impact exercise over many years.

There is a widespread belief that incontinence is something to be managed rather than treated. This is not true. Emsella treats the root cause — pelvic floor muscle weakness — rather than managing symptoms.

Types of Incontinence We Treat

Stress Incontinence

Leaking when you cough, sneeze, laugh, jump or exercise

Urge Incontinence

Sudden, strong urgency to urinate — can’t always make it in time

Mixed Incontinence

Both stress and urge components — very common post-menopause

Postpartum Weakness

Pelvic floor trauma from pregnancy and delivery

Menopausal Pelvic Changes

Oestrogen-decline driven weakness and urgency

Reduced Intimate Sensation

Pelvic floor weakness affecting intimate wellbeing

The Treatment

Emsella —
the solution.

Emsella uses High Intensity Focused Electromagnetic (HIFEM) energy to stimulate the entire pelvic floor with supramaximal muscle contractions — contractions far stronger than any you could voluntarily achieve. 11,000 per 28-minute session. Fully clothed. No pain. No recovery.

The standard course is 6 sessions delivered twice weekly over 3 weeks. Most patients notice improvement from session 3. Results continue to develop for 4–6 weeks after the final session.
